What is this guitar

A guitar with a torrefied spruce top, walnut back and sides, maple neck and olive fingerboard is an interesting combination of tonewoods that produces a unique sound and look.

About Torrefied spruce

Torrefied spruce, also known as thermo-treated spruce, is wood that has been heat-treated to accelerate the aging process. This gives the wood a more mature and resonant tone compared to untreated spruce, which is a popular tonewood for guitar tops.

Walnut back and sides

Walnut is a hardwood that produces a warm, mellow tone, known for its dark, rich color and attractive grain patterns.

Maple for guitar necks

Maple is a dense hardwood that is commonly used for guitar necks due to its stability and durability. It is also known for producing a bright, articulate tone that can complement the warmer tones of the walnut and torrified spruce.

Olive wood for fingerboard?

Olive, although not a common choice for guitar fingerboards, it is a hardwood that provides a smooth playing surface and contribute to the overall tonal character of the guitar.

Results

Overall, this guitar produces a warm, mellow tone with a bright and articulate edge. The unique combination of tonewoods makes for a visually striking instrument.
